You don't have to justify why you're still going when it would be easier not to. You just understand. NOW OR NEVER came from that understanding. The title says everything the song needs to say before you even press play. There is no more waiting for the right time. There is no more right time. It is now or it is never.

“There is a version of New York that looks exactly like what you imagined. The city moves, the studios are real, the sessions happen, and for a while the momentum feels like proof that you made the right call. Then somewhere between the late nights and the early mornings you start to feel something that doesn't have a clean name. Not failure. Not regret. Something closer to exhaustion and the particular kind that comes from being all in with nothing left to give and still not being sure it's enough. This track was written and recorded in New York during a stretch of time when the distance between where I was and where I needed to be felt the longest it had ever felt. What makes SIGNALS is that it isn't a song about giving up. It's the moment just before you don't have to. “Without a Doubt was written around the concept of certainty in an uncertain time. It’s more romantic than most of what I’ve made, but it’s not naive — it’s about choosing to trust something or someone, even when everything around you feels like it’s slipping.

Sonically, it pulls from older ideas like a little ‘80s, a little slow-burn R&B, but it’s framed by how I write now. I think this track sits in space between the past and now. When I was recording it, I kept thinking of the feeling right before a fall when everything is still in time…”

Motion Blur

“Motion Blur started out as a feeling — like time was slipping through my hands faster than I could process it. It was written during a time when life felt like it was moving too fast to keep up, but not fast enough to escape where I was. The lyrics came out of late-night drives, studio days that blurred into each other, and moments where I realized I hadn’t stopped to breathe in weeks.

I wanted the production to feel like memory with soft edges and moments fading in and out, but always with movement. The beat never fully rests, and that’s kind of the point. It’s about existing in motion...”
